With fall around the corner and the sun entering Virgo, my birthday is upon us as we near the end of August! I find it such a bittersweet time as we begin to feel the crisp fall air in the mornings and enjoy the last few weeks of summer. As always, I’m trying new products and want to share the best ones I use on a regular basis to help me live a happier, healthier, more abundant life.
This month covers a variety of products that will help you in a number of areas – from skincare to books check out this month picks curated just for you (and me).
1. Apottera Night Regenerative Balm
The Apoterra Night Regenerative Balm is like heaven touched your face and was blessed by angels. Advertised to be a ‘wake-up-with-a-glow-balm’, it leaves your skin feeling ultra nourished and hydrated before bed and looking like a clear, glowing, bright sunshine when you wake up. The balm itself smells absolutely delicious. I’ve played around with a lot of different products, specifically for hydrating my skin but this is one that has helped my skin clear up and feel AMAZING almost immediately.
Filled with natural ingredients, Cupuacu butter deeply hydrates the skin, prickly pear, pomegranate, and rosehip oil nourish and repair. Vitamin C and Coq10 promote collagen production, improve elasticity, and reduce inflammation. Apoterra, means “derived from the earth”. Natural and good for the planet, Apoterra handcrafts every product using fresh, sustainably sourced ingredients. You can find their balm here and as a bonus use TBTRICIA15 for 15% off your order! Who doesn’t love that?
2. Field Studies Co. T-Shirt
Accompany your new glow with an ultra cute and sassy t-shirt. Field Studies Co., a good friend of mine, has created a comfy yet stylish clothing company that speaks to everyone – dog lovers, nappers, and prosseco drinkers alike. My ‘I’LL BE READY IN A PROSECCO’ t-shirt is my go to over a cute pair of ripped jeans or styled with a pair of shorts. You can check out the different styles here and buy the one that speaks to you. Don’t forget to use tricia10 for 10% off of your order.
3. Smile Natural Foods Whole Blend – Goji Blend
I love scrolling through Well.ca to find new natural products and brands I can try. If you haven’t heard of Well.ca, they’re an online retailer but almost every wellness company you can imagine and is based in my hometown of Guelph, ON. On this particular browser I came across Smile Natural Foods Whole Blend – an all-in-one organic superfood boost for any meal, anytime. Each blend is packed with Flaxseed, Chia, Hemp + 14 more superfoods to give you what you want to power through your day.
I found this blend to be a PERFECT superfood boost addition to my morning smoothie, yogurt, oatmeal, on fruit, and even in salads. They have a variety of different blends, I just happened to gravitate towards the Goji Berry. The best part is, it’s at a really reasonable price and is a great addition of protein, fiber, and nutrients.
4. Kintsugi Wellness – The Japanese Art of Nourishing Mind, Body, and Spirit
This is a book I’ve been raving about on my social channels! I came across Candice Kumai as a guest on a couple of podcasts I listen to and was obsessed with what everything had accomplished (culinary school, a contestant on Top Chef, blogger, writer, photographer, model, TV personality… and the list goes on) and her attitude towards life.
Over the last few years, she embarked on a journey to really understand her Japanese heritage. The Japanese have a beautiful yet realistic approach to life. Almost having finished this book, I have a new and refreshed perspective and attitude on life, resilience, and being graceful no matter what happens. Learning about new cultures provides you a new perspective that is vital to living a fulfilled life. This is one of those books that will teach you something new and take your thinking and appreciation for life beyond your horizons. You can get her book on Amazon or Chapters.
Candice also has a new podcast, Wabi Sabi – The Perfectly Imperfect Podcas, you can check out here!
5. Four Sigmatic Mushroom Hot Cacao Mix
I’m not a coffee drinker but I love experimenting with new teas, liquids, juices – you name it! Staying hydrated is extremely important and liquids can be a comforting or energizing addition at any time of day. There’s been a craze going around about ‘Mushroom Coffee’ and ‘Mushroom Mix’. No, not the drug that makes you hallucinate. Chalked full of nutrients and mineral these mushrooms are the real deal.
Four Sigmatic uses the fruiting bodies of red reishi. The mushrooms are grown in real linden logs cut from a forest, which ensures proper nutrition so that the reishi mushrooms have all the needed nutrients to grow. They allow the fungus to concentrate all of its power into the actual mushrooms before taking them through a state-of-the-art dual-extraction process.
Use this hot cacao mix as your go-to before bed. It’s comforting, delicious, and gets you relaxed and ready for a good nights sleep. I have a cup every time I’m in need of a good rest – filled with goodies like organic cacao powder, organic coconut palm sugar, organic cinnamon, and organic cardamom.
You can find it at most health food stores or online at one of my favourite Canadian online wellness retailers, Well.ca!
