I’m always looking for awesome new products and brands to help me live a healthier, happier, fulfilled day to day! I’m starting this monthly blog to share some goodies with you I discover and use on a regular basis. April is a month of renewal and rebirth, a time for blossoming, try some of these out:
Traditional Medicines Nighty Night Tea with Valerian
I’m a big fan of tea – my collection is forever growing and I use it for any and everything. Traditional Medicines has to be one of my favourite tea brands. Not only do they use some of the best ingredients and herbs, their teas are organic and they have a blend for every occasion. This month I have been loving the Nighty Night Tea with Valerian. Filled with ingredients like chamomile, valerian, and licorice root this tea will leave you feeling calm and relaxed helping with a good nights sleep.
Being a woman can be tough sometimes and hormones can suck. Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to learn about the importance of being a woman and the incredible energy we possess. Unlike men, we work on a cycle and when we are able to understand that cycle we can feed our body what it needs when it needs so we can feel at our best. Throughout your cycle your brain shifts, your hormones change, and your body needs different things at different times. Alisa Vitti, a functional nutritionist, created an app and system, MyFlo, to track your period, symptoms, and fix the root cause of your issues. This app has been amazing in helping me realize why I feel the way the way I feel some weeks and gives me tips and tricks on what food I should be eating, what kind of exercise I should be doing, and what work I should be focusing on based on where you are in your cycle. I’d highly recommend giving it a try!
With spring ALMOST around the corner, I’m longing for the warm weather and flowers to start blooming around me. One of the oils I’ve been drawn to this month is Geranium, a beautiful floral oil. Geraniums are grown for their beauty and as a staple of the perfume industry. It promotes the appearance of clear, healthy skin, and gives hair a vibrant glow. I usually put a few drops in my hands and run them through my hair after a shower. Try this and you’ll get compliments from everyone around you! Wildcraft Calm & Cleanse Makeup Remover
I’ve been on a mission to clear out the toxic products in my home and find natural, clean substitutes. I found Wildcraft at one of my favourite local shops in Guelph/Kitchener-Waterloo, the Truth Beauty Company. Wildcraft is handmade in small batches in Toronto by two local entrepreneurs. The Calm & Cleanse makeup remover has healing powers from chamomile and honey and removes makeup and residue while alleviating dark circles and swelling under eyes, opens pores, and improves eyelash thickness. I love how it makes my skin feel – it doesn’t dry it out or make it feel gross.
Further Food Collagen
What’s the craze around collagen? Collagen holds our body together, it makes up 90% connective tissue, 90% organic bone mass, and 70% skin. In our 20’s our body starts to produce less collagen which can lead to wrinkles, weak bones, and stiff joints. Since we’re not getting enough collagen from our diet, collagen as a supplement has been growing in popularity. Including collagen in your diet can help heal your gut, build stronger bones and joints, and help with youthful, slowing, hair, skin, and nails. I recently discovered Further Food, a company run by three boss babes on a mission to build a community with their brand. I’ve been using their grass-fed, pasture-raised, non-GMO collagen for a month and it’s been great. I add it to my matcha lattes, smoothies, and water. The best part is it’s odourless and tasteless so you can add it to anything. If you’re looking to buy you can use triciakopec10 for 10% off your first purchase.
Thanks to Well.ca I discovered Liquid I.V., an electrolyte drink mix that utilizes the science of Cellular Transport Technology (CTT)™ to deliver hydration to your bloodstream faster and more efficiently than water alone and hydrates your body 2-3x more than water alone. Coffee, alcohol, and soda are dehydrating to the body and many of us aren’t getting enough water. Dehydration can cause fatigue, dizziness, headaches, confusion, muscle cramps, dry skin, and more. I love having these packets on me so I can throw in my water bottle for when I haven’t drank enough water that day, travel, or if I’ve exercised heavily. My favourite flavour is Lemon-Lime – I recommend using half a pack at once as the stevia in it makes it pretty sweet. With every order, Liquid I.V. donates 1 serving of their product to someone in need around the world.
Leave a comment and let me know if you’ve had the opportunity to try any of these!
